Wondering
I wrote this poem while driving, alone, from St. Paul to Denver. I wrote it
while driving and thinking about my friend and love. Overall, it took about
six hours, due to driving I would guess to write. I wrote it as a song and
recorded it into my cell phone for her to hear. I did play it for her, with the
cell phone resting against the phone in my hotel room and me hiding in the bathroom
while it played.

For MaryMo

I was wondering why I love you so much.
Why I love the twinkle and color of your eyes when they smile at me.
And I was wondering why I love you so much.
Why I love the taste and caress of your lips when we kiss.
And I was wondering why I love you so much.
Why I love the safety and strength when your head lies on my chest.
And I was wondering why I love you so much.
Why I love the touch and feel of your skin when your next to me.
And I was wondering why I love you so much.
Why I love the closeness of being together when we make love.
And I was wondering why I love you so much.
Why I love the smell and look of your hair in the morning light.
And I was wondering why I love you so much.
Why I love that nothing else matters to me but your love.
I no longer wonder why I love you so much.
Why I love so much is because of who you are.
